Choose the outing, then the table
- A waterfront restaurant meal: Yardbird at Marina Bay Sands, with pet-friendly alfresco seating on the operator’s current restaurant page.
- Craft beer and a garden setting: RedDot BrewHouse in Dempsey. Ask the team to allocate a pet table and confirm its rain cover.
- A garden walk and a meal: Canopy HortPark, where the branch explicitly welcomes dogs alfresco.
- A Seletar outing: NOMADS, provided you book outdoor seating. Its indoor music area is not pet-friendly.
- A coastal meal in the east: Canopy Changi Village, with an explicit alfresco dog welcome.
- A casual Holland Village evening: Wala Wala, whose own FAQ welcomes dogs in the outdoor area.
How we chose these restaurants
This is an editorial shortlist for different kinds of meal, not a league table based on Google stars. We looked for a current branch identity, an explicit operator-published pet welcome and a useful reason to choose the venue. The source beside each pick explains the permitted area and what still needs arranging. This update is a review of published sources, not a claim that we personally inspected every table.
We removed inherited recommendations where dog admission was unconfirmed or the restaurant identity was under review. Being listed in our directory, having outdoor seats or serving good food is not enough to earn a place here. Independent pet-directory reports can still help readers research other venues, but this shortlist uses operator-published admission policies. Paid placements do not determine these picks.
Book a meal that works for your dog
Tell the restaurant you are bringing a dog before confirming the booking. Ask for the permitted pet section, enough floor space for your dog to rest, the access route and a wet-weather plan. If size, carrier arrangements or fees matter to your visit, get the branch’s answer directly. A general pet welcome does not confirm those details.
Bring drinking water, a bowl and whatever helps your dog settle. Choose a length of visit they can manage, keep them out of service paths and leave if the setting becomes uncomfortable. Do not assume a later sitting is quieter: sports screenings, live music and private events can change the atmosphere.
For a simpler first outing, browse the cafe guide or use the restaurant directory to compare current access notes. The day-out planner can help you keep the meal and any walk manageable.
What Singapore’s dining rules mean
Since 1 January 2025, eligible food businesses that do not serve pet food have not needed additional SFA approval to allow pets in outdoor refreshment areas. That makes it easier for an operator to offer pet seating; it does not make every terrace dog-friendly. Check the restaurant’s own policy. Licensed indoor pet venues are a separate arrangement, so an outdoor-only shortlist should not be read as a blanket indoor ban.
Read SFA’s current published guidance on pets at outdoor refreshment areas.
Quick answers
- Which of these restaurants explicitly welcome dogs?
- Canopy HortPark, Canopy Changi Village and Wala Wala name a dog welcome. Yardbird, NOMADS and RedDot publish a pet welcome. The exact permitted area and booking conditions are explained beside each pick.
- Can my dog sit indoors?
- Do not assume so. These recommendations rely on outdoor pet seating or, for RedDot, a general pet welcome whose exact tables need confirming. NOMADS explicitly excludes its upstairs indoor music area.
- Do they provide water bowls or accept large dogs?
- Ask the branch about your dog and your table. We do not infer water bowls, shade, size limits or a pet menu from a pet-friendly label. Bring your own water and bowl.
- Why have some older recommendations disappeared?
- A best-of recommendation needs affirmative evidence that you can visit with your dog. Venues with unresolved admission policies or identity issues have been removed from the picks, without treating uncertainty as proof that dogs are banned.
