A little heads-up before you go
  • Smith Street Taps is a stall inside Chinatown Complex Food Centre. SFA explicitly keeps pets out of hawker centres and their outdoor refreshment areas. No venue-specific exception was established; open sides, a carrier or craft-beer service do not override this pet restriction.

Plan a visit with your pack

Smith Street Taps serves craft beer from a stall on the second level of Chinatown Complex Food Centre. It is not a dog-friendly terrace bar. Singapore’s food authority expressly excludes pets from hawker centres and their outdoor refreshment areas, so the open-sided setting does not create an exception. The previous dog-welcome and water-bowl claims were incorrect. Visit without your dog if you want to explore the rotating beer selection and surrounding food stalls. For an outing together, choose a separately confirmed pet-friendly establishment. Do not leave a dog unattended outside while you go upstairs to order.

Permitted area: No pet admission to the hawker-centre dining area, including its outdoor refreshment areas. Assistance-dog arrangements are a separate matter..

My fav spot for craft beer in Singapore! Great selection of local craft beers, knowledgeable and friendly staff and reasonable prices. I also enjoy the laid-back vibes of a beer stall in a hawkers center. Overall, it is a must-visit every time I crave a good beer while visiting SG.

Smith Street Tap offers a wide variety of craft beers with many choices to suit different tastes. While it’s on the pricey side for a hawker centre, it’s an interesting concept and a fun place to enjoy good beer in a casual, local ambience.

Great place to grab a beer when you’re at the food market. Taps rotate but there’s a nice selection of local and international beers on tap. Helpful staff that are good with recommendations. Highly recommended.
