Leashed dogs are welcome across the Outdoor Gardens at Gardens by the Bay, but not the Conservatories or Skyway. Here is exactly where you can and cannot go with a dog.
3 min read
Gardens by the Bay is one of Singapore's most-visited attractions, and the good news for dog owners is that a lot of it is open to you. The catch is knowing which parts, because admission depends on the particular garden, attraction and event.
Where dogs can and cannot go
Leashed dogs are welcome across the Outdoor Gardens, the free, open-air areas that make up most of the site, including the Supertree Grove and the waterfront walks. Dogs are not allowed inside the cooled Conservatories (the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest), the OCBC Skyway, Supertree Observatory, gift shops, or the Children's Garden, with the standard exception for guide dogs. Choose an outdoor visit that suits your dog and the conditions; a permitted area is not a guarantee of a comfortable afternoon.
The rules while you are there
Keep your dog on a leash at all times. Certain breeds specified under Singapore's dog-licensing rules must also be muzzled in public, so check whether yours is covered by the Animal & Veterinary Service list. Clean up after your dog and bin the waste. As with anywhere outdoors here, go in the cool hours, bring water, and mind the hot paving in full sun.
Making a day of it
The Outdoor Gardens offer an evening option, but check current access, lighting, crowds and weather rather than assuming that after-dark conditions are comfortable. Pair it with a dog-friendly meal nearby, or see more spots on our dog-friendly parks and places directory. For the fireworks and festival nights when the bayfront gets loud, our seasonal calendar is worth a look.

Check the route before you leave
The current visiting guidelines list dog restrictions and waterfront construction diversions. Dogs are excluded from the Conservatories, OCBC Skyway, Supertree Observatory, gift shops and Children’s Garden, with the stated guide-dog exception. An outdoor event may have additional conditions; ordinary garden access does not automatically grant entry to a ticketed festival.
