Treat the Coney Island coast as part of a planned park walk, not a guaranteed empty beach or dog-swimming spot. The official park information warns about territorial stray dogs and box jellyfish, and directs visitors to stay on designated trails. Check which coastal approaches are open that day. Bring enough water for the return and leave before the 7pm closing time. The former claims about reliably empty coves and an exact cooling effect under the trees were unsupported.

What people say on Google
It's not a beach 🏖️ you might be looking for. But it will feel like a beach. Swimming may not be allowed but you can enjoy watching the sea/ river. I found so many people with their kids having a great family time.
Not as rustic as it was originally touted to be. The "guard" at the Halus gate was pretty arrogant when directing visitors to the foot path without explaining that the main gate is no longer for the public.
🌴🌳The many coastal trees around the beach area provided much shade from the unforgiving afternoon sun. 🚢🌊Nice scenic sandy beach to spent some me time, watching ships passing by.
