polished, predictable, very Farrer Road; the dog walks in, gets weighed without ceremony, leaves with paperwork.

What this clinic is specifically known for is primary care from a well-known chain, with the after-hours safety net of the Gelenggang flagship one phone call away. The team is part of the Mount Pleasant group; a routine practice that quietly hands off to the central emergency hospital when things escalate. At the consultation, ask what the findings mean, which options are available and what should prompt a follow-up.

On hours and scope: mon-fri 9.30am-7pm; weekend hours vary. This is a routine practice. For middle-of-the-night emergencies (collapse, bloat, suspected poisoning, anything that needs a CT scanner before sunrise), the call is to one of the 24-hour A&E hospitals on the emergency list, not here. For everything else (vaccination planning, sterilisation, the lump you noticed at the weekend, health changes in an older dog), this is the kind of practice that earns long-term trust.

Who this clinic suits: owners in the Farrer Road catchment who want a primary vet they can stay with for a decade. Ask whether an appointment is required, request an itemised estimate, and confirm any insurance paperwork or direct-billing arrangements before booking. The address is 3 Queen's Road, #02-141, Singapore 260003, and the booking line is +65 6271 1132.

The small thing nobody mentions: turn up five minutes early on the first visit, with the puppy in a harness if the harness is fitted yet. The first impression of a clinic is largely formed in the waiting room, not the consult room, and the calmer you are on the way in, the calmer the dog is on the table.

Our Sharpei recently started seeing Dr Hazel from Mount Pleasant Farrer for his routine check ups. We have had positive experiences with Dr Hazel and also the staff in general. I like the big open space in front of the clinic and also quite spacious inside too while waiting esp when you have a big dog. Their Whatsapp line is very responsive and it's probably my favourite part of the experience, instead of having to call and email each time. With Dr Hazel, we detected abnormalities which she helped us plan a diagnosis route that was thorough and explained it in depth. She is a very caring and diligent doctor that wants to do right by the animal and owner. Due to her diagnosis plan - we have found out what's causing the issues and my dog is going for surgery at VES next week to sort it out. Thank you Dr Hazel!

Our experience with dr Lucienne has been amazing. We took our little Tipsy there to amputate his tail since it wasn’t healing well. The first vet we went asked us to go to the hospital where they said the bill will cost $6k 🫣 Then we went to see dr Lucienne and she did it perfectly with fraction of the cost ($1k). She did a really good job and Tipsy’s wound was healing well. We came back to take off the stitches and they didn’t even charged 🙏🏾 Thank you dr Lucienne for taking care of our baby ❤️

I am writing this review to highlight an issue I encountered at this clinic. During my visit, the clinic prescribed dog deworming medication for my cats. Because I trusted that what I received was correct or can be administered to cats as well, I administered it to my cat. Thankfully, my cat was unharmed, but the situation could have been dangerous. This type of mistake is unacceptable and reflects a concerning lack of attention to detail. Pet owners rely on veterinary professionals to provide accurate prescriptions-especially when species specific medications are involved. A mix-up like this should never occur. I strongly urge pet owners to carefully check every medication before giving it to their pets. I also hope the clinic will take responsibility and implement stricter checking procedures to prevent such errors from happening again. Although they did apologise for this mistake, it should not have happened.

How this clinic compares nearby

The things that decide where you actually drive are whether they can see you now, whether they take walk-ins, and whether the tests can be run on site instead of sent away. Here is Mount Pleasant Animal Medical Centre (Farrer) against its closest neighbours on exactly that.

  • A&E means the clinic is set up for accident and emergency, not just consults.
  • In-house lab and imaging means bloods and X-rays happen in the building, so you get an answer the same visit.
  • Price band is a relative guide, not a quoted fee. Ask the clinic for the current consultation price before you travel.
