mall clinic at Valley Point; easy parking, no shophouse-up-the-stairs awkwardness.
What this clinic is specifically known for is the Valley Point Vets For Life; centrally located for River Valley and Tiong Bahru regulars. The team is general practice with three-branch network for continuity of care. At the consultation, ask what the findings mean, which options are available and what should prompt a follow-up.
On hours and scope: daytime clinic, mon-sun. This is a routine practice. For middle-of-the-night emergencies (collapse, bloat, suspected poisoning, anything that needs a CT scanner before sunrise), the call is to one of the 24-hour A&E hospitals on the emergency list, not here. For everything else (vaccination planning, sterilisation, the lump you noticed at the weekend, health changes in an older dog), this is the kind of practice that earns long-term trust.
Who this clinic suits: owners in the River Valley catchment who want a primary vet they can stay with for a decade. Ask whether an appointment is required, request an itemised estimate, and confirm any insurance paperwork or direct-billing arrangements before booking. The address is 491 River Valley Road, #01-05/06, Valley Point Shopping Centre, Singapore 248371, and the booking line is +65 6732 0273.
The small thing nobody mentions: turn up five minutes early on the first visit, with the puppy in a harness if the harness is fitted yet. The first impression of a clinic is largely formed in the waiting room, not the consult room, and the calmer you are on the way in, the calmer the dog is on the table.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Vets For Life River Valley. I needed a prescription letter from the clinic to order my cat’s prescribed food from an online pet shop. I first sent them an email but received no response at all, which forced me to call the clinic. Shannon answered the call and, after hearing my enquiry, placed me on hold to check with a colleague. Unfortunately, she did not mute the line, and I overheard the colleague say, “Oh yes yes, if she is not buying the food from us, we have to charge her for the prescription letter.” When Shannon returned to the call, she repeated the same message. I asked why the prescription was never given to me when my cat was first diagnosed in 2024. I explained that I needed the food delivered this time, which was why I could not purchase it in person. She said she would check with her manager or supervisor and call me back. Less than five minutes later, another staff member called, and the conversation became even more frustrating. She repeated that there would be a charge and claimed it was clinic policy. She reiterated that if they have the inventory, and I choose to buy from somewhere else, I will be charged for the prescription. When I questioned whether this policy effectively forces customers to purchase food directly from them, she told me I should have raised my concerns earlier. This response was shocking - customers cannot be expected to know internal policies that were never communicated upfront. It felt as though important information was intentionally withheld, leaving customers with no choice but to either buy food exclusively from them or pay an administrative fee for the prescription. She then added that “HSA/AVA requirements” meant prescriptions are only valid for one year, and that my cat would need to undergo another blood test. This felt like a convenient way to generate additional business. What makes this even more inconsistent is that when I visited the clinic in October 2025 - already more than a year after my cat’s diagnosis - they sold me the same prescription food without raising any issue about validity or requiring further tests. The entire experience felt dismissive, inconsistent, and unprofessional. Instead of transparency and patient care, I encountered poor communication, questionable enforcement of policies, and what felt like unnecessary barriers placed on pet owners simply trying to obtain prescribed food for their pets. Very disappointing experience overall.

Booked in at appointment in the morning for vaccination at 2.30pm today for my dog, however, upon arrival and after doing the checks, the vet returned to inform me that they can’t do vaccinations due to a shortage of vacinnations nationwide for the past few months. While I can understand this is beyond the vet’s control, why allow bookings for vaccinations via your PHONE LINE if you already knew you had supply shortages in the first place? To make things worse, it was absolutely pouring and I had to carry my dog to and from the clinic for no good reason. Completely disappointed for the absolute waste of time and effort to go into clinic today on my off day.

I had an unexpected cat emergency and they were so accommodating by allowing us to just walk-in without an appointment. The whole team were so understanding and kind throughout the visit. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Thank you for everything 🙏

How this clinic compares nearby
The things that decide where you actually drive are whether they can see you now, whether they take walk-ins, and whether the tests can be run on site instead of sent away. Here is Vets For Life Animal Clinic (River Valley) against its closest neighbours on exactly that.
- A&E means the clinic is set up for accident and emergency, not just consults.
- In-house lab and imaging means bloods and X-rays happen in the building, so you get an answer the same visit.
- Price band is a relative guide, not a quoted fee. Ask the clinic for the current consultation price before you travel.
