UDO Approved: a regular favourite with Smeegles
We come to Carnaby often with Smeegles, especially for the epic burgers and fabulous Sunday roast. The staff are lovely and welcoming, they bring water for her, and Chef Adam is a great guy who is super accommodating.
The covered outdoor seating is on the pedestrian quay, beside a children's playground. It makes for an easy family outing: children can play while parents relax over a great meal.

Sunday roast at Carnaby is not to be missed. With the lovely weather it’s nice sitting outside and having a great meal. The chicken was super juicy and tender, and I loved the cook on the potatoes(crispy outside, all caramelised and mushy inside), and the Yorkshire pudding was well executed. The roast beef was a bit chewy but also flavorful. Loved the dessert. All in all a great meal, yum!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Visit Spot at Robertson Quay - British Comfort Done Right Carnabys is an absolute must go if you’re in the Robertson Quay area. The moment the dishes arrive, you can see and taste the British flair woven into every plate-elegant, hearty, and unmistakably crafted with care. What stands out is how everything feels made from scratch, using quality ingredients that shine through in both flavour and presentation. From the beautifully cured salmon on toast to the perfectly seared scallops, every bite reflects thoughtful cooking and a respect for produce. The roast-tender, juicy, and bathed in rich gravy-is pure comfort on a plate. And the sticky toffee pudding? A showstopper. Warm, decadent, with ice cream melting down the sides-absolutely worth every calorie. Service is superb: warm, attentive, and genuine without being intrusive. Sitting just outside by the Robertson Quay walkway adds to the charm-breezy, relaxed, and perfect for long lunches or slow dinners. Carnabys nails that cosy British familiarity while elevating it with technique and finesse. Definitely a place you’ll want to return to. Highly recommended.
First time trying British food labeled as authentic; ordered the Sunday roast, brussel sprouts to share, sticky dates toffee pudding and a glass of Marlborough SB. Glass of wine was served chilled, and of a decent quality (for the price). Set menu (roast + glass of wine + dessert for a cheaper price) is worth it. Sunday roast portion was big and contained many fresh and very delicious components - puree was sweet and smooth, Yorkshire pudding crispy and buttery. Sautéed carrots, broccolini and Brussels sprouts were provided and they were tender yet fresh and charred nicely. Horseradish sauce complements everything very well and gives a refreshing kick. Rump steak was very tender and fat melts in the mouth, cooked to perfection. Gravy was slightly sweet but at the same time complex and prepared in the style of a jus. There were also chunks of roasted potatoes hidden underneath with crispy skin but tender inside, goes so well with the gravy. All components of the Sunday roast was delicious. Brussel sprouts was charred beautifully and had absorbed the fragrance of lard. Sticky dates toffee pudding is on the really sweet side but since I have sweet tooth and love toffee, I liked it a lot. Pudding was warm and moist, with strong notes of dates inside, it complements well with the vanilla ice cream and honey crumble.
